Solution description

Temperature and humidity control for three-phase 230 Volt motors on a single phase 230 V mains supply. The maximum motor current is 2,3 A. The Frequency inverter controls the motor speed in function of temperature and/or relative humidity. The IP20 Frequency inverter communicates with the HVAC sensor directly via Modbus RTU. The installation is equipped with a DIN-rail Internet Gateway.

This sensor controller regulates the humidity and temperature in HVAC applications placed in harsh environments or outdoors, using Modbus RTU. It also measures the ambient light levels. The supply voltage is 24 V DC PoM, which means that Modbus RTU communication and a 24 VDC power supply can be connected using a single RJ45 connector. Modbus RTU communication allows the sensor algorithm to control an EC fan, an AC fan speed controller, or a damper actuator directly. Modbus RTU is used to access all measurements and the output value and allows for the adjustment of all settings. The ambient light sensor can be used in many applications to regulate the ventilation system based on how many people are in the room.

The frequency drive requires a supply voltage of single-phase 230 Volt while it controls three-phase 230 Volt motors. This drive can control motors with a maximum (combined) current of 2.3 A. This frequency inverter can control three-phase 230 Volt IE3, IE4, permanent magnet, brushless DC or synchronous reluctance motors. The motor speed can be set via the intuitive keypad or via the inputs. It is possible to select a pre-defined motor speed by activating a digital input. Another option is to use a 0-10 Volt signal to define the motor speed. Configuration of this all is simplified via 14 basic parameters and application macro functions.
