Solution description

Variable speed control for AC fans with single-phase motor. The maximum motor current is 3 A. Fan speed can be set via the rotary knob from high to low speed. In utmost counter clockwise position, the motor is disabled. When turning the knob clockwise, the motor will accelerate immediately to high speed. When the knob is turned further clockwise, the motor will slow down towards low speed. The low speed limit can be adjusted via an internal trimmer. The supply voltage is 230 VAC. The AC fan speed is controlled by reducing the motor voltage via phase angle control - Triac technology.
