Fan speed controller | day-night function | TK monitoring | 3,5 A
Product description
This controller has two speeds for single-phase motors with thermal contacts (TK). The maximum motor current (combined) is 3,5 A.
This controller has two distinct 5-step switches for selecting between two ideal fan speeds. When the motor is turned on, a dry contact input may be used to switch between the two speeds.
In the event of overheating, the TK monitoring feature shuts the motor. The motor will automatically resume after a power outage. The alarm and unregulated outputs can be used to operate external devices in order to produce alerts or validate normal operation.
The fan speed is controlled by lowering the motor voltage using autotransformers. This technique produces an output voltage with a perfect sinusoidal form, ensuring silent motor running.
The enclosure is surface mountable and provides IP54 protection against dirt, dust, and moisture entry.

Additional specifications and description
They control the fan speed by altering the supply voltage in five fixed steps. The steps are adjusted manually, using the control knobs on the front of the unit. There are two control knobs: one for high fan speeds and one for low fan speeds. Switching between the high and low settings is done by an external change-over contact, which could be a thermostat or a timer. The indicator lights on the front show the status of the unit.
The series is intended for single phase AC motors. This means that this speed controller is only suitable for voltage controllable motors. If you are not sure whether your motor is voltage controllable, it is best to contact the motor manufacturer or read carefully its documentation.
Durable, reliable and easy to install
Transformer-based fan speed controllers are known for their ability to withstand harsh environmental conditions, ensuring reliable operation over an extended period. These controllers are user-friendly and easy to install, making them accessible for a wide range of applications. Furthermore, transformer-based controllers offer a cost-effective solution for regulating motor speed compared to more complex speed control methods.
Noise Minimization
These controllers minimize noise generation during operation due to their design and special impregnation, making them suitable for noise-sensitive environments.
Incremental Speed Control
The controllers provide speed control in steps, allowing users to adjust the fan speed incrementally to meet specific requirements. This optimization of power consumption leads to energy savings.
Dual-Speed Control
The SC2A1 series features two knobs for manual control of two different speeds, allowing users to select optimal speeds. External devices, like clocks, can switch between these speeds automatically.
Thermal Motor Protection
The SC2A1 series monitors motor status through the TK terminals. If the motor overheats, the controller stops both the motor and itself, protecting the equipment. An alarm output notifies users of controller issues.
External Clock Connection
External clocks or timers can be connected to automatically switch between the two selected speeds. This is useful for scenarios like day-night ventilation or occupancy-based ventilation.
Remote Control and Monitoring
The motor can be remotely enabled or disabled using normally open and normally closed inputs. For instance, a remote switch or a smoke alarm can control status of the motor.
Unregulated Output
An unregulated output (230 VAC) is active when the motor is enabled. This output can control external devices like run indicators or dampers. As standard, its Imax is 2 A.
Auto reset after power failure
In case of a power failure, this controller will automatically reset itself. When the power is restored, the motor will restart automatically.
Enclosure Quality
The enclosure for the series is manufactured in-house using high-quality r-ABS VO (UL94) plastic. It has an IP54 protection class, ensuring durability, flame resistance, and protection against impacts, dust, and water ingress. This fan speed controller can be installed indoors, on a wall or on a panel. Make sure that the fan speed controller can sufficiently cool. Preferably install it in a cool place, best away from sunlight.
