Fan speed controller 400 V | day night function | 11 A
Product description
Two-speed controller for 400 V motors with thermal contacts (TK). The (combined) maximum motor current is 11 A.
The controller has two independent 5-speed switches to select two optimum fan speeds. When the motor is active, both speeds can be switched via a dry contact input.
The TK monitoring function stops the motor in case of overheating. The motor restarts automatically after a power failure.
Alarm and uncontrolled outputs can be used to control external devices to generate alerts or control normal operation.
The fan speed is regulated by lowering the motor voltage through an autotransformer. This technology produces an excellent sinusoidal output voltage and guarantees quiet operation of the motor.
The enclosure can be surface mounted and has IP54 protection class against ingress of dirt, dust and moisture.

Additional specifications and description
The SC2A4 transformer controller series regulate the speed of three-phase AC motors by changing the output voltage. They are equipped with autotransformers and regulate the speed manually in 5 steps. This technology is very reliable and robust. It produces a regulated output voltage with a perfect sinusoidal shape. This results in exceptionally quiet motor operation and extended service life. A special impregnation coating reduces the electrical noise of the autotransformers.
The series features selection of two optimal fan speeds, that is why it has two knobs on its enclosure. For high speeds, the available voltages are 210, 250, 290, 330, and 400 VAC, while for low speeds, the options are 130, 170, 210, 250, and 290 VAC. These speeds can be chosen based on specific applications, such as high speed during the day and low speed during the night.
TK motor protection
This 5-step transformer controller can monitor thermal motor contacts (TK or thermal contacts measure the temperature in the motor windings). In the event of motor overheating, the TK monitoring function shuts down the motor to prevent damage. If the motor is not equipped with TK contacts, bridge the two TK terminals of the SC2A4 transformer controller to simulate normal motor temperature.
What can be done via the normally closed contact (CL)?
It is possible to switch between the two speeds via the CL input. If necessary, one of the two rotary switches can be set to position 0. For example, an external timer connected to the SC2A4 can activate a high speed during the day and a low speed at night.
What happens if there is a power outage?
When power is restored, the motor will automatically restart.
What is the function of an alarm output?
The alarm output (230 VAC) is activated when motor problems occur. It can be used to generate alarms. For example, if the engine overheats, the alarm output is activated. The TK monitoring function switches off the engine to prevent further damage. The alarm output can control a warning light.
What additional options does this 5-stage transformer have?
The SC2A4 transformer controller has a start/stop contact. This allows the motor to be activated or deactivated remotely. For example, the motor can be released or blocked via a switch. A smoke alarm can be connected to the normally closed contact. When a smoke alarm occurs, the motor is disabled - regardless of the status of the other input.
What is the unregulated output used for?
The unregulated output (230 VAC) is active when the motor is activated. It can be used to control an external operating indicator light, a damper, etc. If the fan is deactivated, the damper is closed. When the fan is active, the damper is open.
Mounting location
Make sure that the speed controller can cool sufficiently. For best performance, place it in a cool place, preferably not in direct sunlight. The housing is made of high quality steel. This material is very robust and offers good protection against impacts. It offers IP54 protection against dust and water ingress. This speed controller can be installed on a wall or panel indoors.
