Fan speed controller | day-night function | 7,5 A
Product description
This is a single-phase motor two-speed controller. The maximum motor current (combined) is 7,5 A.
This controller has two distinct 5-step switches for selecting between two ideal fan speeds. It is possible to swap between the two specified speeds using the digital input. Normal motor functioning can be indicated by the unregulated output.
The fan speed is controlled by lowering the motor voltage using autotransformers. This method produces an output voltage with a perfect sinusoidal form, ensuring silent motor running.
The enclosure is surface mountable and provides IP54 protection against dirt, dust, and moisture entry.

Specifics
Sentera's SC2-1 fan speed control solution is a straightforward and practical option for achieving energy savings in fan operation. Why?
1. Two Optimal Fan Speed Settings: The SC2-1 series allows users to set two different fan speed settings using the built-in knobs on its enclosure. This feature likely enables users to preconfigure two different fan speeds, one for day operation and another for night operation, based on the cooling or ventilation requirements at different times of the day.
2. Day and Night Temperature Selection: By having the ability to select different day and night temperatures, users can fine-tune the fan speed settings to match the specific thermal requirements of the space during different periods. For instance, during the day when the ambient temperature is higher, a higher fan speed setting may be appropriate, while during the cooler night hours, a lower fan speed may be sufficient.
3. Energy Savings: By using the SC2-1 series and optimizing the fan speed settings based on day and night temperatures, considerable energy savings can be achieved. Running fans at lower speeds when cooling or ventilation demand is lower can help reduce energy consumption, leading to cost savings and improved energy efficiency.
While this type of simplified fan speed control solution can offer energy savings, its effectiveness will depend on various factors, such as the specific application, the efficiency of the fans being controlled, and the thermal requirements of the space. As with any energy-saving technology, it is essential to consult with experts or energy specialists to evaluate the suitability of the SC2-1 series or any other fan speed control solution for your specific needs and to ensure proper implementation for maximum energy savings.
Extra output
As standard, Sentera's transformer controllers are designed with an unregulated output. The unregulated output does not have built-in voltage regulation, meaning that the output voltage may vary depending on fluctuations in the input voltage or load conditions. So, it provides a constant 230 VAC output when the motor is in operation.
While unregulated outputs can be suitable for specific applications, it is essential to consider the implications of not having voltage regulation. In certain scenarios, a regulated output might be preferred to ensure a stable and consistent voltage level, especially when precise voltage control is necessary for sensitive equipment or devices.
The external devices such as dampers and indicator lights must be connected to the L1 and N terminals of the SC2-1. When the fan connected to the regulated output runs, the indicator light will be on or the damper will be open. When the fan is disabled, the devices connected to the light will be off or the damper will close.
In-house manufactured enclosure
The enclosure of the SC2-1 series is made from a specific material called r-ABS with a VO flame-retardant rating according to the UL94 standard. This material is fire-resistant and the enclosure is designed for surface installation. The protection class is IP54 against ingress of water and dust. And because quality is important to us, we produce the plastic enclosures in our own factory.
