Product description

This is a single-phase motor two-speed controller. The maximum motor current (combined) is 1.5 A.

This controller has two distinct 5-step switches for selecting between two ideal fan speeds. It is possible to swap between the two specified speeds using the digital input. Normal motor functioning can be indicated by the uncontrolled output.

The fan speed is controlled by lowering the motor voltage using autotransformers. This method produces an output voltage with a perfect sinusoidal form, ensuring silent motor running.

The enclosure is surface mountable and provides IP54 protection against dirt, dust, and moisture entry.

Sentera’s transformer controllers
Transformer fan speed controllers regulate speed of AC voltage controllable motors in steps. Transformer-based fan speed controllers offer a range of benefits, making them a desirable choice for speed control solutions. Transformer-based controllers are known for their durability and ability to withstand harsh conditions. Also, they are easy to install and operate. They provide simple control in steps, allowing users to adjust the speed of the AC voltage controllable motors according to their requirements. They are known for their energy efficiency. By reducing the motor voltage, they help optimize power consumption and minimize energy waste. In comparison to more complex speed control solutions, transformer-based controllers offer a cost-effective option for regulating motor speed Since transformer-based controllers do not rely on electromagnetic excitation in motors, they help minimize noise generation during operation. This makes them particularly suitable for noise-sensitive environments where quiet operation is desired. . These controllers are designed to be durable, resulting in a long service life. With proper maintenance, they can provide reliable speed control for an extended period. What you get by a transformer fan speed controller is: silent motor operation, simple control in steps and a controller with a long service life at a reasonable price!

Fan type
The SC2-1 transformer speed controllers are applicable to voltage-controllable motors (230 V / 50–60 Hz) to control the rotational speed (of fans, pumps, etc.). They are single-phase transformer which controls the fan speed by altering the supply voltage in five fixed steps. The steps are adjusted manually, using the control switch on the front of the enclosure. There are two control switches: one for higher fan speeds and one for lower fan speeds. The controllers allow for the connection of multiple motors, as long as the current limit is not exceeded. It's crucial to ensure that the total current drawn by all connected motors does not exceed the maximum current rating of the controller. When multiple motors are connected to the controller, they will operate at the same speed. This is because the controller regulates the voltage supplied to the motors, resulting in synchronized speed control for all connected fans. However, it's important to identify the type of motor being used and ensure compatibility with the controller. If there is uncertainty about the motor type, referring to the accompanying documentation or contacting the motor manufacturer for guidance is strongly recommended.
Transformer controller with a timer

Extras
This controller makes it possible to select 2 optimal motor speeds and to switch these by a contact. So, important energy savings and an increase of comfort can be realised. E.g. Day/Night (high and low) control. Switching between the high and low settings is done by an external change-over contact, which could be a thermostat or a timer. The indicator light on the enclosure indicates when the transformer controller is in operation.
Also, as standard all Sentera transformer controllers feature an unregulated output (230 VAC) that is active when the motor is enabled. Because this output is either ON (230 Volt) or OFF (0 Volt), it is called ‘unregulated output'. The maximum current of this output is 2 A. It is typically used to control an external run-indicator, to open or close a damper, to switch an external relay, etc. This means that when the connected motor stops working, the damper connected to the L1 and N terminals will close and the vice versa.

Surface mounted enclosure
Enclosures play an important role in protecting the interior components or contents from various external factors such as debris, dust, water, and mechanical impact. The quality of enclosures is indeed essential to ensure the integrity and safety of the enclosed items. Therefore, the enclosure of the series is manufactured in-house. We use high-quality r-ABS VO (UL94) plastic. The surface-mounted enclosure made from high-quality r-ABS VO plastic ensures durability, flame resistance, and protection against impacts, dust, and water ingress. Its protection class is IP54
