Product description
This is a distribution box for Modbus RTU communication and supply voltage. It can be used to interconnect Sentera devices.
It has 10 channels for 24 VDC powered devices and 12 channels for 3,3 VDC powered devices.
Modbus RTU communication and 24 VDC supply voltage are transmitted via the RJ45 sockets. Modbus RTU communication and 3,3 VDC supply voltage are transmitted via the RJ12 sockets. External power supply is required for both 24 VDC and 3,3 VDC supply.

Ten RJ45 sockets
An RJ45 socket or RJ45 jack or connector is a standardized physical interface used for connecting Ethernet cables to network devices. It is the most commonly used connector type for Ethernet connections in both residential and commercial environments. It is also standard for connecting Sentera’s Power over Modbus RTU devices.
The term "RJ45" stands for Registered Jack 45 and refers to the wiring standard used for the connector. It is an 8-pin connector that is designed to transmit data and power over twisted pair cables. RJ45 sockets provide a convenient and reliable means of connecting devices.
This Modbus RTU distribution box offers ten RJ45 sockets. The RJ45 sockets are internally connected (parallel connection). Via the RJ45 sockets, Sentera devices with 24 VDC power supply can be interconnected - PoM connection. Via the Sentera PoM connection, both Modbus RTU communication and 24 VDC power supply are distributed via a single UTP cable with an RJ45 connector.This distribution box simplifies the wiring and connection of Sentera devices. Just insert the UTP cable with an RJ45 plug into the socket until it clicks into place. The connector's eight pins make contact with the corresponding pins inside the socket, establishing a secure physical connection. This allows both data transmission and reception between devices and 24 VDC power supply distribution.

Twelve RJ12 sockets
An RJ12 socket, also known as a 6P6C socket, is a physical interface typically used for connecting telephone cables. It is similar in appearance to an RJ45 socket but has fewer contacts.
The term "RJ12" stands for Registered Jack 12, and it is designed to accommodate up to six wires or contacts. However, it is commonly used with 6P4C (6-position, 4-contact) wiring, which means it has six positions for wires but only four contacts are typically used. RJ12 sockets provide a secure physical connection and enables the transmission of data signals and 3,3 VDC power supply distribution.
Simply insert the cable crimped with an RJ12 connector into the socket until it clicks into place. The four contacts inside the socket make contact with the corresponding contacts on the plug, establishing a connection for signal transmission.
The twelve RJ12 sockets can be used to interconnect Sentera devices with 3,3 VDC power supply. Modbus RTU communication and 3,3 VDC supply voltage is distributed over the connected devices via the RJ12 sockets.
Maximum current
The combined current consumption of all connected devices must not exceed 1,5 A (3,3 VDC and 24 VDC devices combined).
Maximum cable length
A Modbus RTU network must feature a line topology. The maximum length of the main line is approximately 1.000 m. The combined length of all branch lines must not exceed 20 m. The length of the main line can be increased via Modbus repeaters. Consult our Modbus RTU installation guide for more information about Modbus RTU communication.
Solid enclosure
The enclosure is made of high-quality r-ABS VO (UL94) plastic. This material is flame extinguishing in case of fire, very though and offers good protection against impacts.
It offers an IP20 protection against the ingress dust and water. It is mounted on a standard DIN rail.
