AC fan speed controller for DIN rail - 2,5 A
Product description
The electronic fan speed controller from the DRX series is a DIN rail-mounted electronic controller designed for single-phase voltage controllable motors. It allows for manual adjustment of the motor voltage using a rotary knob, providing an output voltage variation from 100 to 230 VAC. Maximum motor current of 2,5 A.
The rotary knob facilitates the regulation of the output voltage from maximum to minimum, including an OFF position. The minimum speed can be fine-tuned through a trimmer. A green LED indicates the operational status.

Why DRX
DRX is simple control solution that is also cost effective. Controlling the fan speed using this controller is done via its only button – the rotary knob! The fan speed is set from high to low by simply turning it clockwise. The device a solid and reliable control solution which reduces the noise levels emitted by the fan and increases the service life of the motor connected to it, thanks to the TRIAC technique used.
Easy to configure
This fan speed controller doesn't require configuration. Once connected, the fan speed controller is ready to use! If necessary, the minimum motor voltage can be adjusted via the trimmer.
Minimum speed trimmer
The minimum motor speed is set via the trimmer within the range 20 – 70 % of the supply voltage (i.e. about 80 – 180 VAC). As a rule, the minimum motor voltage is adjusted in order to prevent motor stalling at low speed, therefore the trimmer must be adjusted so that the motor does not stop due to mains voltage variations. Another reason is that when the motor works at very low revs there is excessive humming and buzzing. Usually it is a one-time setting – it’s not necessary to adjust the minimum speed every now and then!
Unrivaled quality
This fan speed controller is manufactured in Europe using the most reliable and modern electronic components.
Control multiple motors
The DRX is intended for AC or voltage controllable motors only. DRX can control several motors with a total maximum current equal to its rated current, so take care not to exceed the current limit. On a continuous basis! There is no need to overdimension this controller. Please make sure your motor is AC before connecting it to the controller.
Unregulated output
The controller features an unregulated output which is active when the motor is enabled. If the supply voltage is connected to L and N (as standard), the unregulated output (connected to L1 and N terminals) is active while the motor is in operation. The unregulated output is used to control external devices such as dampers, valves, relays, run indicators, etc. that can work without the need to regulate the incoming voltage. So, the controller regulates the fan through the regulated output via reducing the voltage with the option to regulate one more device, but in the second case the voltage is unregulated, i.e. either 0 V or 230 V. The maximum rating of the unregulated output is 0,5 A.
Disable OFF position
To disable the OFF position, connect the 230 VAC supply voltage directly to the unregulated output (L1 and N). In this case, the connection terminal L is not used. When the supply voltage is connected to the unregulated output, the motor remains activated.
Green LED
The LED on the enclosure indicates the operation status. During normal motor operation, the LED is on.
DIN rail mounting
This fan speed controller can be installed on a DIN rail inside an electric cabinet. DIN rails are metal rails that conform to industry standards and are used to mount industrial processing equipment. DIN Rail electronics have been around for a long time and are becoming increasingly popular in industrial applications across a wide range of industries. Installation is very simple – just mount the device onto the rail and lock it using the pin at the bottom of the device. The ingress protection rating of the enclosure is IP30 – protected from dirt and dust.
