Single-phase motor transformer fan speed controller. The maximum current (combined) is 3,5 amps.

The rotary switch controls the AC fan speed, which ranges from low to high in 5 steps. There is also an OFF position on this rotary switch. The motor voltage is varied in 5 steps to control the motor speed. The perfect sinusoidal shape of the output voltage ensures quiet motor operation.

The enclosure provides IP54 protection against dirt, dust, and moisture ingress. It can be wall-mounted in indoor settings.

This 5-step speed controller is frequently used to control commercial kitchen hood extractor fans, ceiling fans, exhaust fans, and other similar devices.

About the STR-1 series

The 5-step speed control is specifically designed for single-phase HVAC fans or pumps. It employs a single-phase transformer to control the fan or pump speed by modifying the supply voltage in five predetermined steps.
The transformer controller includes an extra unregulated output that allows for the operation of external equipment. It is called so because it is either ON – 230 V or OFF – 0 V. You can use this output to control external devices (maximum current 2 A) such as a run indicator light or a damper. This means that while the fan is working, the run indicator will be on or the damper will be open; when its stops, the indicator will be off or the damper will close.

AC fans 
The series is designed specifically for control of AC fans by reducing the motor voltage. AC fans operate using alternating current and convert it into mechanical power. That is why STR-1 are compatible only with voltage controllable motors. It is possible to connect multiple motors to the controller, provided that the current limit is not exceeded. In such cases, all connected motors will operate at the same speed.

More than 5 regulated output voltages available
The rotary knob on the controller enclosure provides five on positions and an off position, corresponding to different output voltage steps. However, while the series may have a total of six output voltage options, one of them (80 VAC) is not connected or utilized in the controller factory setup. It is possible to adjust the five steps by changing the internal wiring, but this modification is optional. Always exercise caution and follow the manufacturer's instructions if considering any modifications to the controller's internal wiring. Making changes without proper knowledge or expertise could result in malfunction or damage to the equipment. If you're unsure about the specific wiring modifications or the implications of altering the controller, it's recommended to consult the manufacturer or a qualified professional for guidance.

Solid enclosure
This fan speed controller can be installed on a wall or panel indoors. Make sure that the fan speed controller can sufficiently cool. Preferably install it in a cool place, best not in direct sunlight. In order to enhance the product reliability and service life, not only do we develop the electronics but we also manufacture our plastic enclosures. The enclosures protect the electronics and their primary purpose is to prevent the interior from being contaminated or affected by external debris or environmental factors. The enclosure of the STR-1 is made of high-quality r-ABS VO (UL94) plastic, which is flame extinguishing, very tough and offers good protection against impacts. It offers an IP54 protection against ingress of dust and water. An IP54 rating suggests that the enclosure is effectively sealed, minimizing the entry of dust particles and offering reasonable protection against water splashes or light rain. However, it is important to note that it may not be completely waterproof and should not be exposed to heavy water exposure or submersion.
