Transformer fan speed controller | 3 x 230 VAC | 7,5 A
Product description
AC fan speed controller for 230 V three-phase motors. The maximum motor current (combined) is 7,5 A.
The rotary switch controls the speed of the AC fan. This 5-position rotary switch also has an OFF setting.
The motor voltage is varied in 5 stages to control the motor speed. The exact sinusoidal form of the output voltage ensures silent motor running.
The enclosure provides IP54 protection against dirt, dust, and moisture penetration.
It may be wall-mounted in indoor environments. The supply voltage is three times 230 VAC.

Additional specifications and description
General
The STR-3 series speed controllers are used for air capacity control of three-phase fans by means of step speed control. The controllers have five speeds. The speed is set by means of rotating the control knob at the casing front panel to one of five available fixed positions, which are 80, 110, 14, 170 and 230 VAC. Several fans can be controlled synchronously in case their total consumption current does not exceed the maximum permissible value of the controller current. This controller is intended for indoor surface mounting and installation must be performed with respect to the free air recirculation for inner circuit cooling. The controllers must be installed vertically, and away from heating devices. Also, enough space must be proved for maintenance and repairs.
5-step fan speed control for 3-phase fans
Controlling the speed of three-phase fans typically involves more complexity than single-phase fans due to the need for specialized motor control equipment. While three-phase fans have many advantages, they require a three-phase power supply, which is typically found in industrial and commercial settings.
Always consult an electrical engineer or technician experienced in three-phase motor control to determine the most suitable and safe speed control method for your specific application. Safety and compliance with electrical codes and regulations are paramount when working with three-phase systems.
The STR-3 series are designed for the straightforward control of three-phase fans by step changing the supplied voltage. These controllers enable the regulation of three-phase fans by altering the supplied voltage in five fixed positions. This means you can easily adjust the fan speed by selecting one of the predefined settings.
The STR-3 series of controllers are suitable for various industrial settings, including industrial kitchens, warehouses, and other industrial premises. They are commonly used in environments where proper ventilation and air circulation are essential. These controllers are particularly useful for regulating the speed of extractor hoods and exhaust fans. Proper ventilation is crucial in industrial kitchens and other spaces where fumes, heat, or odours need to be removed efficiently.
The controllers offer five fixed speed settings, allowing you to choose the appropriate fan speed for your specific needs. This range typically includes standstill (off) and various levels of fan speed up to the maximum setting.
The STR-3 controllers are user-friendly and do not require complex configuration or programming. The control is typically achieved through a rotating knob on the front panel, making it easy for operators to adjust the fan speed as needed.
Since these controllers come with predefined speed settings, there is no need for additional configuration or programming, simplifying their installation and use.
These controllers provide a cost-effective way to control the speed of three-phase fans in industrial environments without the complexity of more advanced control systems such as variable frequency drives (VFDs).
The controllers are designed for reliable and continuous operation, making them suitable for demanding industrial applications.
Extra unregulated output
The unregulated output on the fan speed controller is a valuable feature that allows you to control and monitor various external components or systems based on the status of the connected fan motor. It can be used for a wide range of applications in industrial and HVAC settings to enhance control and automation. The unregulated output on the fan speed controller is a secondary electrical output that is independent of the fan speed control function. As standard, the unregulated output provides a voltage of 230 VAC and operates in an ON/OFF manner. When the fan motor is enabled or running, this output is in the ON state, providing 230 Volts. Conversely, when the fan motor is not running or disabled, the output is in the OFF state, providing 0 Volts. This output can be used to control various external components or devices. Common applications include: run indicator, damper control, relay activation, alarm or safety mechanism.
