Transformer fan speed controller for single-phase motors. The (combined) maximum current is 1,5 Amps.
AC fan speed is regulated from low to high in 5 steps and can be selected via the rotary switch. This rotary switch also has an OFF position. The motor speed is regulated in 5 steps by varying the motor voltage. The output voltage with perfect sinusoidal shape, guarantees quiet motor operation.
The enclosure offers an IP54 protection against ingress of dirt, dust and moisture.
It can be wall mounted in indoor environments.
This 5-step speed controller is often used to control kitchen hood exhaust fans, ceiling fans, extraction fans, etc.

About transformer technology
A transformer operates based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. It enables the adjustment of voltage and current in an alternating electric current while maintaining the power constant. It achieves this by utilizing coils of wire, known as primary and secondary windings, which are magnetically coupled. The primary winding receives the input voltage, creating a changing magnetic field. This changing magnetic field induces a voltage in the secondary winding, resulting in a transformed output voltage and current. Transformers are widely used in various applications to step up or step down voltage levels efficiently and effectively.

Area of use
The series is designed specifically to control AC fans by reducing the motor voltage. AC fans operate using alternating current and convert it into mechanical power. That is why STR-1 are compatible only with voltage controllable motors. It is possible to connect multiple motors to the controller, provided that the current limit is not exceeded. In such cases, all connected motors will operate at the same speed. If you are uncertain about the type of motor you have, it is strongly recommended to carefully review the accompanying documentation or contact the motor manufacturer for further assistance.
Extra output
The fan speed controller features an additional unregulated output (230 VAC) that becomes active when the motor is enabled. This output is either ON (230 Volt) or OFF (0 Volt) and is therefore referred to as the "unregulated output." It has a maximum current rating of 2 A. This output is commonly utilized to control various external devices, such as a run indicator, damper, relay, etc. For instance, when the fan is not running, the indicator is off, and when the fan is active, the indicator is on.
Durable housing
An enclosure serves to protect an internal mechanism or components. Its primary purpose is to prevent the interior mechanism from being contaminated or affected by external debris or environmental factors. To ensure the long service life and reliability of the SRT-1, the enclosure of the controller is designed and manufactured in-house using high-quality r-ABS VO (UL94) plastic. This material is flame retardant, tough and provides excellent protection against impacts. Its ingress protection rating is IP54, offering resistance against dust ingress and protection against water splashes. The fan speed controller is suitable for installation on a wall or panel indoors, ensuring proper functionality and protection.
