Passive temperature sensor | PT1000 | plastic probe | 1 m cable
Product description
The temperature probe has an acrylic coated sensing element in a plastic tube from black ABS plastic measuring 89 mm x 8 mm to ensure reliability and longevity in various environmental conditions.
The probe is used for precise temperature measurment in HVAC applications for both indoor and outdoor. It has a positive linear temperature coefficient of resistance-when the temperature rises, the resistance rises. At 0 °C, the resistance of the probe is 1.000 Ω. The sensing element has fast response time and outstanding temperature stability.
The length of the unshielded cable is 1 metre and it has two twisted wires (2 x 0,5 mm²).
Additional specifications and description
How does it work?
This temperature probe measures ambient temperature via a platinum element (PT1000). This sensor element has an electrical resistance of 1000 ohms at 0 °C. The probe has a positive linear temperature coefficient of resistance: when the temperature increases, the resistance also increases. Any device with an input for 'PT1000 passive temperature sensors' can read out the measured temperature.
How to connect?
This temperature sensor has an integrated cable. This unshielded 2-wire cable has a length of 1 m. The wires have a cross section of 0,5 mm². If necessary, this cable can be extended. The longer the cable length, the higher the influence of the resistance of the cable on the measurement readout. This sensor doesn't require a separate power supply.
Plastic tube, black ABS plastic
The sensor element is encapsulated in a plastic tube made from black ABS plastic. It offers and IP65 protection degree against ingress of dirt and water. The dimensions of the plastic probe are (89 mm x 8 mm).
