Kitchen hood exhaust fan speed controller | 7,5 A
Product description
5-stage fan speed controller with built-in relay for controlling an external gas valve. The maximum motor current is 7.5 A. The supply voltage is 230 VAC.
The fan speed is set using the integrated rotary switch. An optional pressure switch is required to detect air flow. If no air flow is detected within 60 seconds after the motor starts, the relay output is disabled and gas flow is stopped.
In accordance with local safety codes, it is often the case that gas flow is only possible after the exhaust fan of the kitchen hood above the stove has been turned on. This makes the SFPR1 series the ideal fan speed controller for industrial kitchen hoods!
The TK monitoring function stops the motor in the event of overheating. The motor can be started remotely using the integrated rotary switch or an external switch. After a power failure, the motor starts automatically.
The plastic enclosure can be surface mounted in enclosed areas (IP54).

Additional specifications and description
The series is intended for regulation of AC voltage controllable motors in five predefined steps. The speed is set manually via the built-in rotary switch. A relay output is designed to control an external gas supply valve. The gas supply will be enabled only when the exhaust fan is active. If no air flow is detected within 60 seconds, the gas supply valve will be closed. An optional pressure relay must be connected to the FL input.
Remote start-stop
Via an external switch - connected to the input NC - a remote start-stop command can be generated. If no external switch is available, the fan can be started via the built-in rotary switch. In that case, the two NC terminals should be bridged.
Gas valve control
The most important feature of the SFPR1 controllers is that you can connect to a gas valve, which only opens when the fan is functioning properly. The gas valve remains de-energized for a minute after the regulator is switched on. If the fan doesn't operate during this time, gas supply doesn't start, making it suitable for industrial kitchens.
Unregulated output
The extra, unregulated output (230 VAC) is standard for all Sentera transformer fan speed controllers is active when the motor is enabled. It can be used to control an external run indicator, lights, etc. For instance, the kitchen hood lights can be activated simultaneously with the fan. A damper actuator can also
Thermal motor protection
This fan speed controller can monitor thermal motor contacts (TK or thermal contacts measure temperature in the motor windings). In case of motor overheating, the TK monitoring function will disable the motor to prevent motor damage. If the motor is not equipped with TK contacts, both TK terminals of the controller must be bridged to simulate normal motor temperature.
Auto reset after power failure
In case of a power failure, this controller will automatically reset itself. When the power is restored, the motor will restart automatically.
More than one output voltages available
Also, this series features the option to easily change the output voltages by changing the internal wiring. The factory connected output voltages are 110, 140, 170, 190 and 230 VAC. These correspond to the five steps of the rotary switch. However, SFPR1 features 80 VAC output voltages on one of the taps, which can be connected by disconnecting any of the other 5 default steps. The wires are different colours and it is unlikely to make a mistake. The ability to easily change the output voltages by adjusting the internal wiring provides customization options and versatility to meet specific requirements.
Solid enclosure
To ensure high quality and longevity, the enclosures of our products are manufactured in-house. The enclosure is made of high-quality r-ABS plastic. This material is exceptionally heat resistant, very tough and offers good protection against impacts. The enclosure can be surface mounted and offers an IP54 protection against ingress of dirt, dust and moisture.
