Product description

This controller has two speeds for single-phase motors with thermal contacts (TK). The maximum motor current (combined) is 1,5 A.

This controller has two distinct 5-step switches for selecting between two ideal fan speeds. When the motor is turned on, a dry contact input may be used to switch between the two speeds.

In the event of overheating, the TK monitoring feature shuts the motor. The motor will automatically resume after a power outage. The alarm and unregulated outputs can be used to operate external devices in order to produce alerts or validate normal operation.

The fan speed is controlled by lowering the motor voltage using autotransformers. This technique produces an output voltage with a perfect sinusoidal form, ensuring silent motor running.

The enclosure is surface mountable and provides IP54 protection against dirt, dust, and moisture entry.

Additional specifications and description

The SC2A1 provides comprehensive control, protection and monitoring features for a motor-driven fan system. It enables users to select fan speeds, control the motor remotely, protect against overheating, receive alerts, and maintain system reliability even in the event of power failures.

How does it work?
Via two separate 5-step rotary switches, two optimal fan speeds can be selected. When the motor is active, it is possible to switch between the two speeds via a dry contact input. An external clock can activate high speed during the day and low speed during the night.

Optimal fan speed selection
The device features two 5-step rotary switches that allow users to select two different optimal fan speeds, e.g. for day and night. These can be switched automatically using an external device. This switching is achieved through a dry contact input, meaning an external signal or control can trigger the change in fan speed.

Remote Start-Stop
The motor can be remotely enabled or disabled using two inputs. One input is a normally open connection, and the other is normally closed. This allows for flexible control options. For example: via a remote switch - connected to the normally open input - the motor can be enabled or disabled. A smoke alarm is connected to the normally closed input. If a smoke alarm occurs, the motor will be disabled - regardless of the status of the other input.

Unregulated output
There is an unregulated output (230 VAC) that becomes active when the motor is enabled. This output can be used to control external devices such as run-indicators or dampers. For example, when the fan is operational, the output can be used to open a damper, and when the fan is inactive, the damper can be closed. As standard the current rating of the unregulated output is 2 A.

Thermal motor protection

The device includes a feature to monitor thermal motor contacts (TK). These contacts measure the temperature in the motor windings. If the motor overheats, the thermal monitoring function will disable the motor to prevent damage. If the motor does not have thermal contacts, the controller must be bridged to simulate normal motor temperature.

Alarm output
An alarm output (230 VAC) becomes active when motor problems are detected. This output can be used to generate alerts or notifications. For instance, if the motor overheats, the alarm output is activated, and the motor is disabled to prevent further damage. This output can control warning lights or other alert mechanisms.

Auto reset after power failure

In case of a power failure, the controller has an automatic reset function. When the power is restored, the motor will restart automatically without manual intervention.

Solid enclosure

Enclosures play an important role in protecting the interior components from various external factors such as debris, dust, water, and mechanical impact. Their quality does make a difference, so we produce them ourselves. The device is housed in a sturdy enclosure made of heat-resistant and impact-resistant r-ABS plastic.
The enclosure is designed for surface mounting and offers IP54 protection, guarding against dirt, dust, and moisture.
