Fan speed controller | calendar function | 7,5 A
Product description
A calendar feature is included into this 5-step fan speed controller. It controls single-phase motors. The maximum combined current is 7,5 A.
The speed of an AC fan is controlled by lowering the voltage of the motor via autotransformer technology. This method produces a motor voltage with a perfect sinusoidal form, ensuring silent motor running.
There are two ideal motor speeds to choose from. The timer with day-week program has the ability to flip between them.
In the event of overheating, the TK monitoring feature deactivates the motor. The motor will automatically resume after a power outage.
Surface mounting is possible in indoor environments (IP54).

Additional specifications and description
The ST2R1 is a versatile and user-friendly speed controller for single-phase AC motors that combines ease of use, computer connectivity and advanced features such as thermal protection, alarm outputs, and automatic restart, making it a suitable choice for various applications. They are applicable to voltage-controllable motors (230 V, 50 - 60 Hz) to control the rotational speed (of fans, pumps, etc.)
Autotransformer-based voltage control
The ST2R1 uses autotransformers to reduce motor voltage in steps (the available output voltages are: 80-100-120-150-170-190-230 V). This method ensures a perfect sinusoidal waveform, resulting in quiet motor operation and an extended motor life. When commissioning, two speeds (high and low) can be selected out of the available output voltages. The high and low speed operation time ranges can be programmed through the clock together with a range when the motor has to stop (day/week program), thus permitting a perfect e.g. day/night control.
Silent operation
The autotransformers are coated with special impregnation material to ensure silent operation of the speed controller itself.
User-friendly interface
The speed controller is equipped with a keyboard and display, allowing autonomous configuration. It offers a multilingual menu in English, French, German and Dutch.
Computer connectivity
The controller features a USB port for connection to a computer. You can use Sentera's free 3SMUsb software to read, change, and write device parameters.
Calendar function
The ST2R1 includes a built-in day-week timer, allowing you to set two optimal speeds. You can create day/night or day/week variations, program for the entire year, and set on/off times and high and low speeds. It also supports exceptions for holidays.
Remote ON and OFF
The controller has 2 dry contacts that enable remote activation and deactivation using a switch or thermostat.

The controller has 2 dry contacts that enable remote activation and deactivation using a switch or thermostat.
Motor thermal protection
It can monitor motor thermal contacts (TK) to prevent motor overheating and damage. If your motor lacks TK contacts, you must bridge them to simulate normal motor temperature.
Alarm output
The controller has an alarm output that activates when thermal protection turns off the device. This can be connected to an audible or visual alarm.
Automatic restart
After a power outage, the ST2R1 automatically restarts without requiring manual intervention.
Unregulated output
In addition to the regulated output to the motor, it provides an unregulated 230 VAC output for other devices with a maximum current of 2 A. This can be used for applications like opening a gas valve or controlling supplemental lighting.
Robust surface-mounted plastic enclosure
The housing of the ST2R1 is made of high-quality r-ABS plastic for models up to 7,5 A. The enclosures are designed for wall mounting and offer protection against dust and moisture with an IP54 rating. To guarantee their high quality, Sentera designs and manufactures the plastic enclosures in its own factory.
Upon installation, it is important to adhere to specific requirements to ensure proper functionality and safety. Mount the controller on a stable and secure surface, in a vertical position to enable adequate airflow and cooling of internal components. Sufficient ventilation around the controller is necessary to prevent overheating. Mount the controller in an environment with a reasonable ambient temperature, away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Securely fasten and shield the wiring. Consider environmental factors like moisture, dust, or corrosive materials, and use suitable enclosures or covers for added protection.
