A calendar feature is included into this 5-step fan speed controller. It controls single-phase motors. The highest (combined) current is 3,5 A.
The speed of an AC fan is controlled by lowering the voltage of the motor via autotransformer technology. This method produces a motor voltage with a perfect sinusoidal form, ensuring silent motor running.
There are two ideal motor speeds to choose from. The timer with day-week program has the ability to flip between them.
In the event of overheating, the TK monitoring feature deactivates the motor. The motor will automatically resume after a power outage.
Surface mounting is possible in interior situations (IP54).

What are the advantages of transformer fan speed controllers?
Transformer controllers have a lot of advantages as a speed control solution. They are robust, easy-to-use, efficient, and, last but not least, cost efficient in terms of energy savings and long service life. One notable benefit is the absence of electromagnetic excitation in motors, making them suitable for noise-sensitive environments. What are the special features of the series?
In addition to the display and the four-button keyboard that help to determine the operation of the controller, it also has a 230 V alarm output that is activated when the thermal protection of the motor connected to the controller is activated. In this case you can connect an indicator light or alarm to the alarm terminals to inform you of a malfunction. The regulator also has one normally closed and one normally open contact. These contacts can be used to remotely turn the controller off and on, and a thermostat can be connected to them.
Also, the ST2R1 is a programmable controller which can be programmed for the whole year - the day, on/off time and high and low speeds can be adjusted. To simplify the settings, you can schedule all five days in the same way and then schedule the weekends, or you can set each day differently, and the programme also has fifty exceptions, which allows you to set the operation of the controller in a completely different way on holidays (closing days). So, you adjust the device for a year ahead and forget about frequently setting and monitoring it.
What are the options for adjusting the controller?
The controller can be programmed using the display and keyboard on its front cover. What is more the controller menu is translated into several languages and the relevant language can be selected using the keyboard. Another option is to connect the PCB of the controller to a computer with the help of a cable, download our 3SM software from our website on the computer and use it to set the device according to your needs. After connecting to the 3SM, programming becomes much easier as all the settable parameters are now visualized.
What kind of fans can be controlled using ST2R1?
These are controllers are only suitable for single-phase voltage-controlled fans. Before choosing a controller, always check in the description of the fan or consult the manufacturer’s specifications to find out whether your fan can be controlled by changing the supply voltage. Otherwise, either the fan will not start or you may damage the fan as soon as it is connected.
Plastic wall mountable enclosure
Make sure that the fan speed controller will have enough space and will be adequately ventilated. It is best to install it in a cool place, preferably out of direct sunlight. The housing is designed for indoor use and manufactured in our own factory. It is made of high quality r-ABS VO (UL94) plastic. This material is non-flammable, very strong and provides excellent impact protection. The housing meets IP54 protection against dust and water. This fan speed controller can be wall or panel mounted.
