Fan speed controller | calendar function | 1,5 A
Product description
A calendar feature is included into this 5-step fan speed controller. It controls single-phase motors. The highest (combined) current is 1.5 A.
The speed of an AC fan is controlled by lowering the voltage of the motor via autotransformer technology. This method produces a motor voltage with a perfect sinusoidal form, ensuring silent motor running.
There are two ideal motor speeds to choose from. The timer with day-week program has the ability to flip between them.
In the event of overheating, the TK monitoring feature deactivates the motor. The motor will automatically resume after a power outage.
Surface mounting is possible in infoor environments (IP54).

Additional specifications and description
What is a transformer controller?
A transformer controller controls the speed of single-phase AC motors by changing the output voltage. They are equipped with autotransformers and regulate the speed in predefined steps corresponding to the factory connected output voltages. This technology is very reliable and robust. It produces a regulated output voltage with a perfect sine shape. This results in exceptionally quiet motor operation and extends the motor service life. A special coating reduces the electrical noise of the autotransformers.
Calendar function
The ST2R1 have a built-in timer. Two optimal speeds can be selected from 7 options – 80, 100, 120, 150, 170, 190 and 230 VAC. Low speed, high speed or standby mode can be easily set via the keyboard interface and LCD display.
Thanks to the built-in clock, the ST2R1 controllers can operate autonomously. The two optimal speeds can be selected and switched both manually via the built-in keyboard and automatically via the programmable timer functionality.
Thermal motor protection
This stepwise transformer controller can monitor thermal motor contacts (TK or thermal contacts measure the temperature in the motor windings). In the event of engine overheating, the TK monitoring function shuts down the engine to prevent engine damage. If the motor is not equipped with TK contacts, bridge the TK terminals of the ST2R1 transformer controller to simulate normal motor temperature.
Unregulated output
The unregulated output (230 VAC) is active when the motor is activated. It can be used to control an external operating indicator light, a damper actuator, etc. When the fan is deactivated, the damper is closed or the light is off. When the fan is active, the damper is open or the light is on.
What happens in case of power outage?
When power is restored, the engine will automatically restart.
What is the function of an alarm output?
The alarm output (230 VAC) is activated when motor problems occur. It can be used to generate alarms, e.g. if the engine overheats, the alarm output is activated. The TK monitoring function switches off the engine to prevent further damage. The alarm output can control a warning light.
What additional options does this transformer controller have?
The ST2R1 has an on/off contact. This allows the motor to be activated or deactivated remotely. For example, the motor can be released or blocked via a remote switch - connected to the make contact. A smoke alarm is connected to the normally closed contact. When a smoke alarm occurs, the engine is disabled - regardless of the status of the other input.
PC operated
Apart from being a standalone device, this transformer controller features a USB port for connection to computer. What you get is easy reading, changing and writing all device parameters via the free downloadable 3SMUsb software (part of 3SM Center)
Solid enclosure
Make sure that the speed controller can cool sufficiently. Preferably place it in a cool place, best not in direct sunlight. The case is designed and manufactured in-house. We use high-quality r-ABS VO (UL94) plastic. This material is flame-retardant, very robust and offers good protection against impacts. It offers IP54 protection against dust and water ingress. This speed controller can be installed on a wall or panel indoors.
