Additional specifications and description
Small spaces such as lavatories and small bathrooms need exhaust fans to lower the humidity level of the room. If a lavatory or bathroom does not have an exhaust fan, odors and high humidity levels may make a person in that room feel quite uncomfortable. However, we do not recommend that you have the exhaust fan switched on 24/7, due to the high energy waste. After all, the lavatory and bathroom are only in use for a couple of hours every day.
Having a controller for exhaust fans does make sense. However, some people might not like turning on a separate switch. Other people will tend to forget to switch it on as the exhaust fan is not very visible. Exhaust fans for small spaces like lavatories or bathrooms are therefore often activated simultaneously with the lights.
Delayed deactivation
This timer module activates exactly 1,5 seconds after the light has been turned on. This time period is not adjustable. However, the module has an adjustable delayed activation function. The integrated potentiometer inside the timer module switches the fan off when the timer ends. The timer ends a few minutes after the lights have been switched off. With the potentiometer, you can set the delay in the range of 2 - 10 minutes. We advise on setting the delay at a longer time. In lavatories, this makes sure the unpleasant odours are gone. In bathrooms, it ensures that the humidity quickly moves back to comfortable levels.
Reliable and easy to install
This solution is a simple alternative for exhaust fans that are controlled in function of air quality. The exhaust fan is activated simultaneously with the lights. There is no need to install a separate sensor. Make sure to set the delay long enough so that sufficient air can be extracted to guarantee good indoor air quality. The greater the volume of the room, the more air will be extracted.
Easy to install
This product can simply be installed together with the light switch. All that needs to be done is to connect the SW and L connections to the light switch and the U1 and U2 connections to the fan. Then rotate the potentiometer until the arrow points to the desired delayed time-out. Read the mounting instructions before installing this product.
ON/OFF working principle
This product is controlled by a switch. That also means that there is no fan speed control for this product. The fan either works at full speed or does not work at all.
IP Rating
The IP rating of IP20 makes this a delicate product. An IP20 rating provides some protection from accidental contact with fingers and no protection against the ingress of dust, water or other liquids into the enclosure. This device must be installed in a place away from water and dust. Usually there is some space left around the electrical wiring of the lamp. The device is small enough to be installed in the same location. Another possible location is the ceiling itself.
