Electric heater controller | 6 kW | built-in temperature probe
Product description
This is an electric heating element controller equipped to manage both single-phase 230 VAC and two-phase 400 VAC systems.
Leveraging time-proportional control through TRIAC technology, this controller ensures precise modulation of heating elements. Ambient temperature is monitored using the integrated PT500 temperature probe, while day and night temperatures are adjustable via two built-in potentiometers.
An external potentiometer can be connected to enable remote setpoint adjustments. The controller features digital inputs for remote ON-OFF switching and seamless transition between day and night temperature setpoints.
The controller is capable of handling a maximum resistive load of 3.2 kW for single-phase configurations and 6 kW for two-phase systems.

Additional specifications and description
Electric heating elements convert electricity into warm air. This warm air can be used to heat a room or a building. The AH2C1-6 -500 controllers use time-proportional control (TRIAC technology) to control heating element(s). The requested day and night temperature can be adjusted via two potentiometers on the front cover. Via a digital input, the day or night regime can be selected. If necessary, an external potentiometer can be used to adjust the temperature setpoint remotely.
Built-in temperature probe
This controller has a built-in PT500 temperature probe to measure the ambient temperature.
Extra heating capacity
Electrical heaters up to 3,2 kW (230 VAC) or up to 6 kW (400 VAC) can be controlled. If necessary, extra heating capacity can be connected via an expansion module. The expansion or slave module can be connected via the output (0-10 V or 0-20 mA). The extra heaters are controlled synchronously.
Modbus or manually controlled
AH2C1-6 -500 can operate both as a Master and a Slave device. Master and Slave modes are selected via Modbus holding register 13 or, in case you prefer manual control - via the DIP switches.
Master or Slave device
Whether you opt for Modbus communication or prefer the simplicity of DIP switches, the controller adapts to your chosen mode through Modbus holding register 13 or the DIP switch configuration. The AH2C1-6 -500 can be used as a master controller or an expansion (slave) unit.
In Master mode, it features additional control options, namely:
▪ Remote ON/OFF: You can connect an external switch to turn the controller on and off from a distance.
▪ External timer / clock: Apart from the two day and night integrated potentiometers for setpoint selection, AH2C1-6 -500 features an option for connecting an external timer or clock for switching between the day and night potentiometers (disabling one and enabling the other).
▪ External potentiometer: Apart from the two day and night integrated potentiometers for setpoint selection, AH2C1 features an option for connecting an external potentiometer device for remote setpoint selection (5—30 °C) in case AH2C1-6 -500 is mounted in one room and you need to control it from another.
▪ Analogue output: The analogue output repeats the heater PWM output i.e. 70 % PWM output is translated to 7 VDC analogue output signal, 80 % PWM is translated to 8 VDC analogue output signal, etc. It can be used to control a fan or slave device to increase the power output.
In Slave mode, the integrated PT500 temperature probe is made redundant and the AH2C1-6 -500 still features two additional options:
▪ Remote ON / OFF: You can connect an external switch to turn the controller on and off from a distance.
▪ Analogue input: The heater PWM output follows the analogue input signal.
Solid enclosure
The enclosure of the controller is manufactured of high-quality r-ABS VO (UL94) plastic in our own factory. This material is flame-retardant, extremely tough and offers good protection against impacts. It features an IP54 protection against ingress of moisture and dirt.
