Automatic AC fan speed controller | dual output 3 A | Wi-Fi gateway
Product description
The TCMF8-302WF is an advanced controller engineered for precision fan speed control in systems with single-phase AC fans. With a maximum motor current of 3 A per motor output (2 x 3 A), this controller guarantees optimal efficiency for your HVAC setup. The TCMF8-302WF sets a new standard in automation by dynamically regulating fan speed, leveraging real-time measurements from up to 4 connected HVAC sensors through the RJ45 socket, supporting Power over Modbus. Additional sensors can be integrated via extra power supplies.
The 2 analogue inputs and 2 analogue outputs offer customization according to your specific HVAC needs. Accessing application-specific firmware is done through SenteraWeb, your dedicated HVAC cloud platform.
The TCMF8-302WF includes an integrated internet Wi-Fi gateway, ensuring a smooth connection to SenteraWeb. Opt for standalone operation or maintain continuous connectivity to the cloud platform, granting you the freedom to control and monitor your HVAC system according to your preferences.
Thanks to the variety of firmware offered on SenteraWeb the TCMF8-302WF can be used for various HVAC applications such as destratification, demand-based fan speed control, air handling unit control, etc. The configuration process is simplified by choosing your desired functionality on our website solution page and downloading the corresponding firmware from SenteraWeb. No programming skills are required for this user-friendly controller. Necessary settings can also be done through Modbus Holding registers.

Additional specifications and description
Application specific firmware
TCMF8 controllers require application specific firmware. Typically, they regulate fan speed based on the input of the connected sensors or potentiometers. Application specific firmware can be downloaded via SenteraWeb - your personal HVAC cloud platform. This controller has an integrated internet gateway that can be connected via Wi-Fi. Once the firmware is downloaded the TCMF8 controller can work stand alone or it can stay connected to SenteraWeb.
Control AC fans
An AC fan is a fan powered by alternating current. It plays a crucial role in facilitating the circulation of air within heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. AC fans are commonly used in various cooling applications to dissipate heat generated by electronic components or to enhance air circulation in buildings. The TCMF8 is intended for on-demand control of AC fans and offers specific solutions depending on the customer’s needs.
Different functionalities
We offer a limited number of specific firmware versions for typical HVAC applications (e.g. destratification, demand based fan speed control, etc). First select the required functionality via our website's solution page, then download the application specific firmware. If necessary, it is possible to adjust some settings via the Modbus Holding registers. No programming is required!
Two motor outputs to regulate fan speed
This controller has two outputs to control AC fans with single-phase motor. The maximum combined current is 3 A per output. Fan speed is regulated by reducing motor voltage via phase angle control / TRIAC technology. This means that this speed controller is only suitable for voltage controllable motors. If you are not sure whether your motor is voltage controllable, it is best to contact the motor manufacturer. This speed controller works completely silently. The fan speed can be set via the knob on the front panel. Thanks to the accurate motor control, humming motor noise at low speed remains limited.
Thermal motor protection
When an AC motor fails, it is often due to overheating. In order to detect motor overheating in time, some motors are equipped with TK or thermal contacts. These thermal contacts measure temperature in the motor windings. TCMF8 fan speed controllers can monitor two thermal motor contacts. In case of motor overheating, the TK monitoring function will disable the motor to prevent permanent motor damage. The motor TK can be connected to the TK and 24 VDC terminals.
Connect sensors or potentiometers
External HVAC sensors or potentiometers can be connected via Modbus RTU communication or via the analogue inputs. To simplify wiring of the external devices, 24 Volt supply is available via the RJ45 socket. The 24 Volt supply and Modbus communication can be distributed via one cable - we call it Power over Modbus or PoM. All settings can be adjusted via the Modbus Holding registers.
IP54 enclosure for surface mounting
This fan speed controller can be installed on a wall or panel indoors. Make sure that the fan speed controller can cool sufficiently. Preferably install it in a cool place, best not in direct sunlight. The enclosure is made of high-quality r-ABS VO (UL94) plastic. This material is flame extinguishing, very tough and offers good protection against impacts. It offers an IP54 protection against ingress dust and water.
