5-step fan speed controller | TK monitoring | 2,5 A
Product description
5-stage transformer fan speed controller for single-phase motors equipped with thermal contact or TK. The (combined) maximum motor current is 2,5 A.
The fan speed can be adjusted using the built-in rotary switch on the front cover. The TK monitoring function turns off the motor in case of overheating.
The fan speed is regulated in 5 stages by reducing the motor voltage. The output voltage with perfect sinusoidal shape ensures silent operation of the motor.
The housing can be mounted on the surface and provides IP54 protection against dirt, dust and moisture.

Transformer fan speed technology
A transformer-based fan speed controller offers several advantages that make it a desirable choice for speed control in various applications.
Transformer-based controllers are known for their durability and robust construction. They are designed to withstand challenging industrial environments, ensuring reliable operation over an extended period.
These controllers are designed to be user-friendly, allowing for easy installation and operation. They typically feature a built-in rotary switch or control mechanism that enables users to select one of the available speed settings effortlessly.
Transformer-based controllers provide efficient speed control for fans or motors. By reducing the motor voltage in steps, they allow for precise regulation of the fan speed, optimizing energy consumption and overall system efficiency.
One significant advantage of transformer-based controllers is their ability to provide silent motor operation. By utilizing autotransformer technology and generating a motor voltage with a perfect sinusoidal shape, these controllers minimize electrical noise and contribute to a quieter working environment.
The autotransformer technology used in these controllers helps to extend the service life of the motors. The reduced voltage and improved waveform result in less stress on the motor, leading to increased reliability and longevity.
Transformer-based fan speed controllers are typically a cost-effective solution compared to other speed control methods. Their affordability makes them a popular choice in industrial settings where budget considerations are essential.
Sentera’s STRS
This series of transformer-based fan speed controllers offer 5-step control mechanism. This means that users can select from five different speed settings, allowing for fine-tuning of airflow based on specific requirements or environmental conditions.
It is designed for easy integration into existing systems and does not require additional configuration or programming, ensuring hassle-free installation and immediate usability.
Use
Transformer-based fan speed controllers find extensive use in industrial kitchens, warehouses, and other industrial environments. They are commonly employed to regulate extractor hoods, exhaust fans, and other ventilation systems.
Unregulated output
The extra, unregulated output (230 VAC) is active when the motor is enabled. Because this output is either ON (230 Volt) or OFF (0 Volt), it is called ‘unregulated output'. The maximum current of this output is 2 A. It is typically used to control an external run indicator, to open or close a damper, to switch an external relay, etc. When the fan stops, the damper is closed. When the fan is active, the damper is open.
Thermal contacts
The STRS1 features thermal motor protection that helps safeguard the motor from overheating. It is designed to monitor the temperature of the motor windings and take appropriate action if the temperature exceeds safe limits.
The thermal motor protection function typically works in conjunction with thermal contacts or TK (Thermal Contacts) embedded within the motor. These contacts are responsible for measuring the temperature of the motor windings. If the temperature rises to a critical level, indicating potential motor overheating, the thermal motor protection system is activated.
When the thermal motor protection system is triggered, it disables the motor to prevent further damage. This automatic shutdown helps protect the motor from excessive heat, which can lead to insulation breakdown, reduced motor life, or even motor failure.
High-quality enclosure
The enclosure is made of high-quality r-ABS plastic and in order to guarantee its good quality, we manufacture our own enclosures. The material is exceptionally heat resistant, very tough and offers good protection against impacts. The enclosure can be surface mounted and offers an IP54 protection against ingress of dirt, dust and moisture.
