5-step fan speed controller | 0-10 V controlled | 7,5 A
Product description
This transformer controller has an analogue 0-10 V input. It controls single-phase motors. The (combined) maximum motor current is 7,5 A. The speed is regulated in 5 steps by reducing the motor voltage via autotransformer technology. These 5 levels are selected via an analogue control signal (0-10 V) or via an external potentiometer. The output voltage with a perfect sinusoidal shape guarantees quiet motor operation. The TK monitoring function disables the motor in case of overheating. The IP54 enclosure can be surface mounted. The supply voltage is 230 VAC.

About the used technology
Transformer-based control typically generates less electronic interference compared to other control methods. This is beneficial in applications where electromagnetic interference (EMI) needs to be minimized, such as in sensitive electronic environments.
Transformer-based control is often compatible with a wide range of motors, making it versatile and adaptable to different setups and equipment. The technology is known for its durability, with fewer components that could be prone to failure compared to more complex control methods. This contributes to a longer lifespan and reduced maintenance requirements. Due to its simple design and reliability, transformer-based control can be a cost-effective solution in both initial investment and long-term operation, especially when considering reduced maintenance and replacement costs. The technology has been used for decades in various industries, proving its effectiveness and suitability in diverse applications. This long history of use adds to its credibility.
The Sentera STVS1 series is designed to provide a comprehensive solution for controlling and protecting fans and motors, especially in situations where precise control, reliability, and durability are crucial. The controller offers several features and capabilities that enhance its performance and suitability for various applications.
Stepped motor voltage adjustment
The STVS1 controller adjusts the motor voltage in incremental steps, enabling precise regulation of fan speed. This technology ensures reliability, smooth motor operation, reduced noise, and extended motor service life.
0-10 V control signal
The controller is responsive to a 0-10 V input signal, which can originate from sensors, external devices like potentiometers, SenteraWeb, a Master controller, or a third-party Building Management System (BMS). This signal dictates fan speed levels, and the controller's relays adjust fan speed accordingly. The 0-10 V control signal is suitable for short distances and a variety of applications.
Thermal contact (TK) protection
The STVS1 incorporates TK protection, which involves monitoring thermal motor contacts (TK) to prevent motor overheating. If motor temperature rises excessively, the controller halts motor operation to prevent damage. In cases where the motor lacks TK contacts, the controller's TK terminals must be connected to simulate normal motor temperature. If overheating occurs, the controller triggers TK protection, stopping the motor and sending a signal. In such instances, the controller requires a restart.
12 VDC output for thermal contact status
An extra 12 VDC output is available on the controller to indicate the status of thermal contacts. This output can be used for activating lamps or connected to a Building Management System to receive alerts about motor overheating or fan stoppage.
Automatic reset after power loss
In the event of a power failure, the controller will reset automatically, and the motor will restart once power is restored.
Unregulated 230 VAC output
An unregulated 230 VAC output becomes active only when the motor is operational. This output is suitable for controlling external indicators or devices like dampers. If connected to a damper, it opens when the motor runs and closes when the motor stops.
LED Indicators
The controller features two LEDs – a green LED indicates normal operation, while a red LED signals issues like the activation of TK protection.
Durable enclosure
The controller's housing is constructed from high-quality r-ABS plastic, known for its heat resistance and protective properties. The enclosure is designed to shield internal electronics, withstand environmental factors, and is manufactured with stringent quality control in Sentera's own factory. It's suitable for surface mounting and offers an IP54 protection rating against dirt, dust, and moisture.
