Electronic boards
Electronic circuit boards play a crucial role in transformer fan speed controllers, serving as the intricate brains behind the efficient regulation of fan speeds. These boards are meticulously designed to manage the power supplied to the transformer, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency.

At the heart of these circuit boards are microcontrollers and integrated circuits, orchestrating the intricate dance of electrical signals. These components work in harmony to interpret user input, translating it into precise adjustments in fan speed.
Capacitors and resistors are strategically placed to fine-tune the electrical characteristics of the system, contributing to the stability and reliability of the fan speed control. The circuit boards are often equipped with safety features, such as overcurrent protection and voltage regulation, safeguarding the entire system from potential damage.

Additionally, the circuitry may incorporate feedback mechanisms, utilizing signals from the fan itself to ensure that the desired speed is achieved and maintained. This closed-loop control system enhances the accuracy and responsiveness of the fan speed controller.

Miniaturisation and optimization are key considerations in the design of these circuit boards, as they must fit within the compact confines of the fan speed control unit. Advanced manufacturing processes and surface mount technology enable the creation of intricate circuitry on a small scale, maximising efficiency and reducing the overall footprint of the controller.

Therefore, in order to guarantee a continuously flawless operation of your transformer fan speed controller, we offer various circuit boards, which you can replace yourself without the need of buying a complete new control unit.

Enclosure related
The importance of well-sealed enclosures for fan speed controllers cannot be overstated, as it directly influences the performance, reliability, and longevity of these essential electronic devices. Enclosures serve as protective shields, safeguarding the delicate electronic components from external elements while ensuring the efficient operation of the fan speed controller.

One of the primary reasons for maintaining a well-sealed enclosure is to shield the internal circuitry from dust, moisture, and other environmental contaminants. These elements can compromise the functionality of the electronic components, leading to malfunctions, corrosion, and ultimately reducing the lifespan of the fan speed controller. A tightly sealed enclosure acts as a barrier, preventing the ingress of these potentially harmful substances and maintaining the integrity of the internal electronics.

Furthermore, a well-sealed enclosure plays a crucial role in protecting the fan speed controller from humidity and water exposure. Humidity can lead to condensation, which may result in short circuits and corrosion of the circuit board. In environments where moisture is a concern, such as industrial settings or outdoor installations, a sealed enclosure becomes paramount in preventing these issues and ensuring the controller's continued performance.

Beyond environmental protection, sealed enclosures also contribute to the safety of the overall system. Fan speed controllers often operate in proximity to electrical power sources, and a well-sealed enclosure prevents the entry of foreign objects that could cause electrical shorts or other hazards. This protective barrier enhances the safety of both the device and the surrounding environment.
In addition to protection against external elements, a sealed enclosure aids in thermal management. Efficient heat dissipation is crucial for electronic components' optimal performance and longevity. By preventing the entry of contaminants, the enclosure helps maintain the desired operating temperature, preventing overheating and ensuring the reliability of the fan speed controller under various conditions.

Moreover, a sealed enclosure contributes to the aesthetic and functional aspects of the fan speed control unit. It provides a clean and professional appearance while preventing the accumulation of dirt and debris, which could otherwise lead to operational issues or create a negative impression in visible installations.

Because an enclosure in perfect condition is so important, we made sure the necessary elements to obtain / remain this are available, going from cable glands and rubber grommits to screws to front knobs.

Switches and contactors
Rotary switches and contactors are also essential components in fan speed controllers, playing pivotal roles in regulating and controlling the operation of fans. These devices contribute to the precision, reliability, and efficiency of fan speed control systems.

Rotary switches are commonly employed to allow users to select different fan speed settings. These switches have multiple positions, each corresponding to a specific speed level. Users can manually rotate the switch to choose the desired speed, enabling customisation based on comfort preferences or environmental conditions. The rotary switch essentially acts as the interface between the user and the fan speed controller, providing a straightforward and intuitive means of adjusting the airflow.

Contactors, on the other hand, are electromechanical switches responsible for managing the electrical power supply to the fan motor. In fan speed controllers, contactors are often used to control the activation and deactivation of the fan based on the selected speed setting. They handle the switching of high electrical currents, ensuring a smooth and reliable operation of the fan motor.

The integration of these components into fan speed controllers enhances the overall functionality of the system. Rotary switches allow for user-friendly and accessible control, offering a range of speed options to suit different requirements. Users can easily adapt the fan speed to changing conditions, promoting energy efficiency and optimal comfort.

Contactors contribute to the safety and efficiency of the fan speed control system by managing the electrical connections. They help prevent electrical issues such as overloads and short circuits, ensuring that the fan motor operates within safe parameters. Contactors also facilitate the seamless transition between different speed settings, providing a reliable and responsive fan speed control experience.

Autotransformers
Autotransformers play a crucial role in fan speed control by adjusting voltage. In a fan speed controller, both 230 VAC and 400 VAC autotransformers are utilised. The 230 VAC autotransformer is suitable for scenarios where incoming voltage surpasses the desired level for the fan motor. By adjusting the tap, it can step down the voltage, enabling variable speed control.

On the other hand, the 400 VAC autotransformer is designed for higher voltage applications. It serves to step down excessive input voltage, facilitating variable speed control based on tap adjustments. These autotransformers have multiple taps along the winding, each corresponding to a specific voltage output. Proper selection of taps allows for precise adjustment of fan motor speed according to requirements.

It is essential to match the autotransformer's power rating without exceeding the fan motor's power requirements to prevent overheating or damage. Additionally, incorporating safety measures such as fuses and circuit breakers is crucial to safeguard the system from electrical faults.
