What is K-factor of a fan?
It is possible to calculate the air flow volume [m³/hr], based on the measured differential pressure. This method compares the static pressure upstream of the inlet ring with the static pressure in the inlet ring. For this calculation, the K-factor of the fan is required.
This K-factor takes into account the specific properties of the inlet ring of the fan. That is why each type of fan has its own specific K-factor. You can request the K-factor of your fan from your supplier.
The air flow can be calculated from the differential pressure (between the static pressures) according to the following equation:
Q = K x Square root (DP)
